Music From Non-Existent Movies – live at last!

Well… This COVID-19 thing’s hit us all. I miss concerts, I miss meeting you, I miss playing live. And finally, courtesy of the Polish Ministry of Culture, I’ll be able to play something live. For the first time since the premiere of my “Music From Non-Existent Movies”, I’ll play those tunes live. I’ll play in my dungeon, in my studio, and anyone who wants to, will be able to watch it live. Listen. Participate.

Music From Non-Existent Movies

I’ll play on 15.07 at 21:00. Such a strange moment, in the middle of the week, in the middle of summer. In the middle.

I wonder how it’ll sound… It’s improvised music, after all, played once and never repeated. Well…

Music From Non Existent Movies is only available on my Bandcamp, only digital version. Everything is digital now.

Streaming will be available on my YouTube channel and the concert link will be available soon. Stay tuned!

Imagine Nation @ Podlasie Jazz Festival!

Here we go again! On October 19. we’ll play on Podlasie Jazz Festiwal. I decided to play Imagine Nation there – tunes I’ve written for last year’s Jazz Jamboree. Those themes were originally written for quintet, with voice and another guitar. This time I’ve made trio arrangements, hope you’ll like them. I’ll play with great musicians and friends, Wojtek Pulcyn on bass and Sebastian Frankiewicz on drums. Come and check it up!

Spontaneous Chamber Music – Patryk Zakrocki & me – just have played at Skład Butelek (WAW, PL). We’ve been lucky to have Basia Żach, great graphic artist, listening to our performance. That’s how she sees us.

Better check up her Instagram, it’s worth it!

Music From Non-Existent Movies

On 22/03 I’ll play my solo improv set at Skład Butelek (WAW, PL). I call this project “Music From Non-Existent Movies”, ’cause that’s what I’trying to do – tell the untold stories. Well, actually improvise soundtrack, that could possibly fit them. Something like that. Preparations for a solo recording are gaining momentum, I even think about recording this very concert. If you want to a part of it, just come on Friday, 22/03 to the Skład. I’m starting at 20:00. See you!

Solo

Just would like to invite you to my solo improvised set. I have not played this thing in Warsaw for quite a long time. Fortunately Skład Butelek (really cool place in WAW, a bit underground thing, think you’ll love it) invited me to play. So if you’re in Warsaw and in you like free improv music, please come and listen.

Imagine Nation!

In October, during the Jazz Jamboree festival, I’ll present my new project. I am so happy – I’ll play at the iconic festival and I will play with great musicians!

Imagine Nation is a completely new thing, with a completely new repertoire. We’ll play my compositions – but this time I allowed myself for a few experiments. I am playing a bit with the jazz idiom. Songs are quite precisely written down, but some parts are open. In a way I try to maintain control and loose it and the same time – these songs can be played in a strictly jazz way, but the performers can also go free. The scores are sometimes precise, but sometimes they become something like a slightly sketched scenario, just setting the order of the events.

To perform this experiment I invited great musicians, outstanding improvisers and wonderful people: Hubert Zemler on drums and objects and Ksawery Wójciński. I will play guitars (real and imagined ones), and at the premiere we will be joined by Liberty Ellman, an excellent guitarist known for solo projects or cooperation with Henry Threadgill.
